Green Business Club (GBC) Zuidas is an impact organization with more than 50 participants that focuses on concrete results by initiating sustainable projects. GBC Zuidas is an independent foundation set up in 2011 by -among others- ABN AMRO, ORAM and Zuidas – municipality of Amsterdam.

GBC Zuidas participants are companies based in Zuidas who share the ambition of making it the most sustainable area to live and work in in the Netherlands. Large and small businesses, government and knowledge institutes come together in the Energy, Mobility, People, Water & Green and Waste & Circularity teams to develop projects and exchange best practices. They each use their own expertise to inspire and help each other within these pillars. This has resulted in a very divers, lively and committed network of professionals who have one common goal: to make both the area and their own operations more sustainable.

The participants’ CEOs meet annually for the CEO-breakfast. In 2015, they signed the GBC Zuidas 2015 – 2020 Ambition Statement, which will be followed up in May 2020. In 2019, 27 CEOs signed the Zero Waste Zuidas Agreement, committing themselves to a waste-free Zuidas in 2030.

GBC Zuidas publishes an annual sustainability report, a collaboration with participants Zuidas Municipality of Amsterdam and Hello Zuidas. In this report all sustainable initiatives from the entire area of the past year are collected. Read the Zuidas 2019 Sustainability Report here.

In addition, GBC Zuidas shares knowledge with GBC Nederland and other local Green Business Clubs through the use of the GBC Kennisbank.
